Earthbound Academy offers a transformative alternative education model rooted in agro-ecology, bridging emotional well-being, academic achievement, cultural awareness, and environmental stewardship. Guided by principles that balance food production with environmental health, social equity, and economic viability, our programs foster a nurturing environment where students thrive academically, grow personally, and build strong community connections. Through ecological intelligence and integrated system design, students learn to work with natural processes while engaging in hands-on sustainable farming, equine-assisted learning, and immersive cultural field experiences.
Earthbound Academy empowers participants to become engaged global citizens committed to the well-being of both the planet and their communities, serving as a vibrant hub that brings together local Puerto Rican students and world schoolers from around the globe.
WHO WE ARE
Founded in Miami and rooted in Puerto Rico, Earthbound Academy was created to respond to today’s pressing educational and environmental challenges by cultivating eco-conscious leaders grounded in agro-ecological principles. With extensive backgrounds in education, equine-assisted learning, and sustainability, co-founders Alisha Jacobs and Orianne Tairum designed a holistic model that integrates emotional well-being, academic rigor, and environmental stewardship. Through regenerative land practices, integrated system design, and hands-on experiential learning, students develop a deep connection to their natural surroundings while gaining the knowledge and resilience needed to navigate a changing world.
Our mission is to reconnect students, families, and communities with nature while fostering a sustainable, adaptive mindset rooted in ecological balance, social equity, and cultural respect.
We envision vibrant world-schooling hubs that honor local traditions and ecosystems, bringing together local students and global learners in shared stewardship. Guided by our core values—sustainability, cultural awareness, emotional growth, and community engagement—we empower students not only to achieve academic success, but to become resilient, engaged global citizens prepared to care for both their communities and the planet.
